A 10m x 10m x 5m room isolated from the outside world; no light, noise or smell can get inside. The room is also completely mute and dark. One metre from the walls we install another set of walls made of silk (9m x 9m x 4m). Between the real and silk walls we place speakers and target microphones, and connect them to a computer. We cover the whole room with target microphones, so when any kind of noise occurs, they immediately send a signal to the computer, where we give them an enhanced echo effect and send the new waves back to the loud speakers.
When someone enters a dark room, they tend to loose their orientation and wander around in the echoes of their own noises.
The installation is meant to represent how easily human existence can influence our reality; by forcing the viewer to deal with the significance of his or her activities through their own noises in a sterile environment.
